In honor of the 50th anniversary of the Chevrolet Camaro, Goodguys teamed with artist Eric Brockmeyer and Goolsby Customs to produce a spectacular Butternut Yellow 1967 Camaro Grand Prize Giveaway Car for the 2017/2018 season.
The color and styling of this car pays homage to the heritage of Chevrolet’s flagship Muscle Car while at the same time blending in a host of modern day parts and hi-end aftermarket components. It truly serves as a rolling showcase of our industry’s contemporary goodies wrapped in muscle car lore.
For many, Butternut yellow with the black SS nose stripe hits a sweet spot. It certainly does here. PPG supplied the color and the Goolsby paint & body department made it all smooth as glass. Advanced Plating did their magic on numerous parts and pieces hitting the nail on the head as they always do!
Under the YearOne vented hood growls a 700hp Edelbrock Performer Series 420c.i. LS V8 with custom machined Greening Auto Company valve covers tucked neatly in a smoothed satin black engine bay. It makes thunderous sounds through the Flowmaster Exhaust. Inside the cabin, Boom Mat keeps things quiet while M & M Hot Rod Interiors used a hazelnut/mocha Relicate leather to stitch up a vintage looking interior retaining as many of the OEM trim parts as possible. Classic Instruments gauges are housed inside the original bezels. Glowing bright is a retro white shift knob atop a Hurst bump stick linked to the Tremec six-speed trans. Under the dash are three machined Goolsby Edge Edition pedals while a hi-powered Kicker audio system brings concert-quality jams.
The Camaro’s under pinnings include one of Roadster Shop’s Spec Series chassis offering a spot-on ride height and sturdy handling. Massive Baer Brakes inside B-Forged wheels shod with sticky BF-Goodrich tires finish off spirited road performance.
